Default Re: Why do you use Windows Vista vs. sticking with Windows XP?

I still have both on my PC but boot 95% of the time to Vista lately. Why? Same reason some people get a new car every couple of years...something new and different even though there was nothing wrong with the one before.

Oh I do have one other problem. My imate JasJam really doesn't like Vista. I have to plug it in a couple time before Vista even recognises it.
LMAO..see what your reputation here gets you? I had to google that because I thought it was another bad joke!

I like the interface and with my system I do not notice the small performance drops from XP. All my games work perfect and driver support has improved quite a bit. I originally had it setup in duel boot with XP but I have not booted into XP for months. If everyone remembers right... XP had the same problems when it was released

dude, its Digital_Trans, look at his previous post, he can find problems with everything.

I went with Vista because I had to reinstall Windows anyway and said "**** it, why not!" and well im impressed, it feels more stable then Xp in many ways.

Hehe. Seriously though, it's a pain. I really like to sync my phone daily with my home PC. Might have more luck once there are Vista drivers for my Bluetooth dongle.

Vista is great though. Love the ability to get in and work right away. With XP after login I always had to wait a min or two while things were loaded.

It's much better/more stable than XP was for me. Plus, if you are a power user, it has some pretty nifty features.

I have currently installed Ubuntu 7.04, XP Pro and Vista Ultimate on this rig, only using Vista because the others just do nothing for me.

It's also a lot smoother and faster than XP. You do need a minimum of 1 GB, 2 GB highly recommended, but it feels great

There are some issues, no doubt, but name one application with this many uses/depth that is problem free.

I'm searching atm for a decent pda/smartphone and these are the kind of issues I have to find out about each one I may want. My work laptop has XP pro, so no worries there with syncing, eh..I get brain freeze every time I think of everything I've read about phones the past month!

Owwieee!!

I have absolutely no use of Vista; only loading into it like what, once a month, LOL? May be Lost Planet will change that. The only reason I'm dual-booting Vista is I could get a copy of Ultimate for less than $100.

EDIT
Sticking with XP for two reasons: SLI performance and DD/DTS decoding.

Yeah, and that is why I did not bother with XP until one year after release.
