Default Problem getting 1920x1200 resolution on Sony SDMP232W

Problem getting 1920x1200 resolution on Sony SDMP232W:

I am having a problem getting the right resolution going on this monitor. It has a native resolution of 1920x1200, which is displayed when using the "nv" driver. However, when using the proper "nvidia" driver it wont get past 1600x1200.

I am running Fedora Core 6, proper kernel (i686), gfx hardware is Quadro 4 380 XGL, using nvidia 96xx driver. Attached are the appropriate logs.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Please start X with the -logverbose 6 option and then generate and attach a new bug report.

(--) NVIDIA(0): Sony SDM-P232W (DFP-0): 135.0 MHz maximum pixel clock
(--) NVIDIA(0): Sony SDM-P232W (DFP-0): Internal Single Link TMDS

Your card has a 135 MHz maximum pixel clock. 1920x1200 requires 154 MHz or dual-link TMDS.
The "nv" driver does not check this limitation. In the "nvidia" driver you can use:

Option "ModeValidation" "NoMaxPClkCheck"

Probably it will work then, although you are operating the card out-of-spec.

Totally awesome, this worked like a charm.

What are the issues with running past the pixel clock that it reports? Is it a video card or a monitor problem?

Thanks!
