try now, i was in console mode

Also, i wonder, could this happen if there wasnt enough power going to the card? I would think if that was the case that it wouldnt work at ALL with ANY driver.

I don't see anything unusual in the new bug report either. Is this problem specific to KDE?

OK so, i reinstalled SuSE (what a waste) and guess what? It still doesn't work! Its working with one monitor and it thinks the card is VESA Framebuffer Graphics. If i try to use the other monitor and it changes the card used, it becomes garbled again. Are there previous drivers (ive tried .03) that work with this card/distro combo? In my xorg.conf, it says its using the nvidia driver so it has to be something to do with the way its reading the card... I have also read things about changing the AGP rate which wouldnt make sense since my previous card (FX5500) was running 8X, but you never know and i dont know the Option to to use...

Thanks!

_Dan

I can't comment on the current problem without seeing an nvidia-bug-report.log.

Also, you never stated whether this problem is specific to KDE.

I have opensuse 10.2 and fonts looks perfect in kde.
Open kde control center -> appereance and themes -> fonts
Use anti-aliasing : Enalbed (or system)
If you set to enabled, click configure and set hinting to full.

Note: you need to relogin for the new settings to take full effect.
Btw, I'm using DejaVu fonts.

Its KDE, Gnome, Login Screen everything. Its not just the fonts either, its the mouse, edges of icons, even the edges of the nVidia logo are choppy.

Nope, no workie.

The funny part is, its not the background, just things on top of it.
Its almost like the fonts and icons and windows need to be anti aliased......
