Hello,
my system is Debian Lenny, 32-Bit-Kernel 2.6.18-3 k7, hardware is Gigabyte MB, AMD64 3000, Chipset Nforce4 1 GB Ram, GPU Nvidia 6200 TurboCache. Until I did a dist-upgrade I had a perfectly running NVIDIA-97.55 grahics driver with 3-D-Acceleration. My dist-upgrade included Xorg 7.1 --> Xorg 7.2. From this moment on the nvidia-graphics drivers did not work any more. At first I uninstalled the driver and tried to reinstall. As I tried to install the new Nvidia-package 100.04.09 I always get the following nvidia-installer-log. Here follow the directories as tls.txt and lib.txt. So it seemed that all files existed and I ran the nvidia-xconfig utility and started my 'gdm' which resulted in the following Xorg.0.log, where I can't see any (EE)-message. Perhaps you can help to solve this problem. I like playing with googleearth and with a software-glx the world moves not really fast. Thank you |

Please generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log while this problem is present.

ERROR: The runtime configuration check failed for the library
'libnvidia-tls.so.100.14.09' (expected: '/usr/lib/tls/libnvidia-tls.so.1', found: '/usr/lib/libnvidia-tls.so.1'). The most likely reason for this is that conflicting OpenGL libraries are installed in a location not inspected by `nvidia-installer`. Please be sure you have uninstalled any third-party OpenGL and/or third-party graphics driver packages. |

As I said in my first post there was a running nvidia-driver (97.55) in my system. In the moment when xorg was updated this driver stopped working. As far as I know I did not install any other OpenGl library or so. I did not install the Debian Nvidia-glx and all my efforts to install the nvidia-driver again resulted in the message you cited.
If I run NVIdia.... .run --uninstall the /usr/lib/tls/lib.....so.1 disappears as well as the /usr/lib/libnvidia-tls.so.1. Both Files say that they are made by the nvidia-installer. |

Does this problem persist if you install the 100.14.11 driver?

This looks like a different problem:
(II) LoadModule: "glx" (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions//libglx.so dlopen: libnvidia-tls.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory (EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions//libglx.so (II) UnloadModule: "glx" (EE) Failed to load module "glx" (loader failed, 7) X isn't finding libnvidia-tls.so.1. Where did it get installed on your system? |

Sorry, my fault. This was not the right bugreport-log, which I attach now.
For me the problem is, that there are two locations for libnvidia-tls.so.1 1. /usr/lib/libnvidia-tls.so.1 -> libnvidia-tls.so.100.14.11 /usr/lib/libnvidia-tls.so.100.14.11 2. /usr/lib/tls/libnvidia-tls.so.1 -> libnvidia-tls.so.100.14.11 /usr/lib/tls/libnvidia-tls.so.100.14.11 Maybe that the runtimecheck ist confused and thinks that one of this is a third party glx-module. Thanks for your help. Werner |

Try moving or renaming each of the libnvidia-tls.so.100.14.11 instances, and see if that has any impact.

Thank you for the tip.
I changed the symbolic link /usr/lib/libnvidia-tls.so.1 to point to /usr/lib/tls/libnvidia-tls.so.100.14.11 which pointed earlier to /usr/lib/libnvidia-tls.so.100.14.11. Now I'm happy to have a working 3D-Acceleration. Thanks again for your patience Werner |
