Q6600 and 8800GTX at Ultra speeds.

The performance issue is surprising considering that Flatout 1 and 2 were hailed for performing and looking great.

Meh... if performance has gone down significantly I'm not going to bother with this. I've been wanting to play it, but Flatout 2 was damned near perfect for the kind of game it was. I never once thought it looked bad, and the flawless performance made the game more enjoyable.

No reason to spend $20-$30 to make the same game run worse...

I'me getting about mid to low 20's on my overclocked QX6700 / 8800 GTX at 4x AA / 1920x1200. Not too impressed with the performance - but fun game nonetheless.

Gah... you can actually play this game at 20fps?

This is a 60fps+ game IMO...

Your system should be a lot faster on that game.

Hopefully Crossfire works in this game, higher AA levels would be cool
40 is still pretty damn low for such a system.

Maybe the game is more ATI friendly like Grid? Anyone with ATI can report back on performance?

Jesus, Flatout2 gets 60+ fps at 4X AA at 1680x1050 on my 8600GT for pete's sake - how the heck did the performance drop so much with just some added shader effects and HDR?

For those of you getting 40+ fps, have you dropped resolution/AA to see where the bottleneck is?

I used to play Flatout 2 on my 8800GTX at 2048x1536 with some AA (nothing more than 4x) and 16xAF and it was pegged at 85fps most of the time.

Yea tell me about it.

I'll check later with decreased AA, or Multisampling transparancy off perhaps.
