Sounds like an opinion, an opinion that is in a huge minority.

Go back to the cave you crawled out of troll.

BTW, I've been playing Far Cry for the last several days, and it is still a really awesome game. The AI is still top notch, and the environments are still very immersive for a game that is several years old. I can't wait for Crysis to hit shelves.

Why would someone who doesn't like FPS games care or bother to have an opinion on it? I agree Crysis will probably have a hard time living up to its MASSIVE amount of hype, but to say FPS fans won't enjoy it is insane.

Then maybe its being kept quiet and under wraps...letting you lucky dogs at WSVG test play it as it gets preped as a public release demo

The level from at the WSVG is the Nanosuit Demonstration Level first seen at CES 2007. It is the same exact build and thus has the same bugs/performance issues first reported there. While the words "demo" and "beta" are used interchangeably on the internet, they are much different for Crysis. There will be a MP beta program shortly, followed by separate SP and MP demos.

May I suggest my team's FC mod, Project X. Two of the coders, Soroc and Suli, are the mod leads for OE2 which has the Crysis Pre-SDK. Our special effects/sound guy, Sean Ellis, now works for Crytek as an audio programmer. There's also over 3300 enhanced textures included. The MP aspect of the mod was released as FC patch 1.4 and many of the SP enhancements were predecessors to Crysis' features. So playing the mod is sort of a sneak preview of Crysis in a way (the rocket launcher proximity mines in PX lead to Crysis' tactical bullets, for instance.)

Yes the demo/beta whatever you want to call it was here on demo station at the Intel booth. I posted about playing it in another thread. It didn't run so great. The specs on the demo machine were:

QX6700
4Gig Corsair Ram
2x 8800GTS

The frames were smooth until the action started. The choppy performance was more attributed more to the software build rather than the hardware IMO so all you guys with ub3r rigs shouldn't have anything to worry about once this thing finally hits the shelves. By the time I left the event yesterday, sometime after 6pm, the Intel reps had removed the pcs containing Crysis on it so either the game kept crashing and they got tired of restarting it, or someone was trying to copy it.

Is "Crysis" supposed to be a system killer? The min and recommended requirements don't seem to suggest that:

Minimum Requirements
CPU: Athlon 64 3000+/Intel 2.8ghz
Graphics: Nvidia 6600 or ATI X1600 - Shader Model 2.0
RAM: 1GB
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 256k+
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9 with Windows XP / Vista

Recommended Requirements
CPU: Dual-Core CPU (Athlon X2 / Pentium D / Core 2 Duo)
Graphics: Nvidia 7800GT or ATI X1800XL Pro (SM 3.0)
RAM: 1.5GB+
HDD: 6GB
Internet: 512k+ (128k+ upstream)
Optical Drive: DVD
Software: DX9 with Windows XP / Vista

Of course if you are playing above 1920x with filtering you may indeed need something like 8800GTX SLi.

I am just on 1680x myself. Many folks like to talk smack about people using the 8800GTX @ a 1280x res and those folks will be able to keep their GTX a lot longer than I will.

No that was just my personal opinion but seriously don't you think $3000 worth of pc hardware should be able to play a $50 game without hiccups regardless of how good it looks?
