Default Photoshop Help

Hello I started using Photoshop and already have a problem

I am trying to make a flyer for someone.

I have got the background by using gradient. I have got the words in.

I want to put a picture in so I copied and pasted it in. Unfortunalty it has got a white box

How can I get rid of the box so the image just sits there on the gradient. Is it even possible?

Maybe you could upload the .psd file and I, or someone else could take a look and help you out. Your description of the problem didn't make sense to me.

Make sure the picture layer is in the foreground and the gradient layer is in the background. There shouldn´t be any box or border except the original picture had one in the first place. When I work on my little layout projects I add pictures and text all the time and all I need to keep an eye on are the layers and how they are sorted/positioned.

Yup. First you need to make sure that the picture you copied in is on a separate layer and that layer should be above the gradient. Now you need to delete the white part of the image. This can be done in probably 1000 different ways. If the picture has clear cut edges to it I'd use the magic wand selection tool to select the white spots and simply press delete.

Or you could use the eraser and just erase away the white parts. Or use a layer mask to only display part of the layer. Or use the color selection tool to only select the white parts. As I said, there are many ways to do this.

If you want you could upload your file and I could look at it? It would probably only take me 10 min to do.
