Looks like you were so concerned about posting this that you forgot to have a proper look.
And now Vista laughs at you.

hehe, I recall MS catching some flak for this over at winsupersite when they went through Vista..
using 2 different approaches for back and next, which ofcource makes no sense and is all wrong.
Either swap out BOTH, or none really.

Not really, it just shows how bad that UI is, generally Windows users are used to bad UI so it's normal.

And we have another MS hater.

Bad UI my @$$- and before you go pissing-about in regards to your 1337 experience with multiple OSs- I've used multiple Linux distros- and none of them have a GUI that is as functional and the Windows GUI. Atleast, not yet. Granted, a lot of that boils down to personal preference, and I'm fully aware that with Linux I could customize a GUI that would be perfect for me. The problem is my real life is too full of actual "happenings" to allow me to waste away in front of a screen to program my OS to function the way I want it to. Instead, I use Windows where- more often than not (by a large margin) everything works perfectly the first time- and can do anything I'd ever need it to.

To each their own, by all means. But you crossed the line when you stated the Windows GUI was crap- that is a personal statement and almost as far from fact as is possible. Hate Windows- cool, I don't care. Just don't speak like your opinion is the new Gospel.

Thanks.

I agree. With XP nothing says professional like a UI designed for 2 to 3 year olds exclusively by Fisher Price. I think the thing I love best is the oversized modal buttons.

Office 2007 with the creme` ribbons, that's a move in the right direction.

Vista with it's extended 'close' modal button, I love it, they simply had to make it larger to accomodate all those grandmothers and soccor moms out there who lack fine motor movement. I pray that Vista included the feature where in 60 days I can be alerted about unused icons on the desktop.

Atleast out of the box Vista worked without issue- all of the drivers were there (even for my 8800s, though they're weren't the latest)- can't quite make the same claim for any Linux distro- can we? Seems to get my 8800s working I'd have to install the driver, via command prompt. And even then DX performance would be sub par. Hmm, I guess I wont be playing Crysis on the latest Kubuntu now will I? :rolleyes

You didn't have to install video drivers for your 8800s on Vista? That's pretty amazing...you must have had the Ultimate edition and the lack of need for driver installation must be a manifestation of it's features.

DX performance sub par? Try non-existent. A Win32 closed-source proprietary rendering engine isn't going to work on Linux unless it's emulated ala Cedega/WineX-CVS/etc.

Do you have any of that good 'ol boy meowmix?

Sure.

Whatever you say

Ubuntu's UI must be a god-send for you

Haven't touched it personally for about 2 months (and counting) now coz, well, nothing I want to do works with it

Cheers.
