Very true, but the thing is, it's not like you can use the latest Core 2's in the S775 boards that were around the time of S939, so Intel aren't all that much better (if at all) in reality, they just appear better right now. What it comes down to though, is AMD could've easily kept going on with S939, so it's a shame they didn't. Unfortunately they couldn't have really just stuck to S939 with no AM2 either, DDR-2 is far too cheap these days to make anything else viable. They only better situation for them would've been to release K10 as their first DDR-2 platform, but of course, I'm talking sometime early this year at the latest.. and as we now know, that just wasn't happening.

I think Intel learnt this from AMD. AMD were caught between a rock and a hard place. But Intel at last is making sure that s775 mobos (with the right voltage regulators) can accomodate Penryn, Wolfdale or Yorkfield CPUs. Thats also future proofing.

Wonder if you can do 1600 fsb on P35 and X38 chipsets?

you can do 2000FSB on P965.
