Default Ace Combat 6 Demo - XBL - Your thoughts?

The Ace Combat 6 demo is up on Marketplace.

About to give it a whirl once it's downloaded.

What do you folks make of it?

my only gripe is all the radio chatter, and emo acting.

Definately worth doing, if only for all the demos that pop up.

Slightly off topic but.....

Is it right Flatout Ultimate Carnage aint out over there until September?

I was browsing through the leaderboards and never saw a single USA flag there, was shocked.

It's the best racer i've played in a long long while. Forza 2 has gathered dust since this came about, if only for the destruction derby matches over Xbox Live.

It has a physics engine that reminds me of Half Life 2's Source engine, except alot busier with more objects and movement. It's nuts, everything gets destroyed. An outright Burnout beater!

**** I have to go over my brothers house to play this today. I hope MS drops the price of 360 before it comes out.

How are the graphics?

The audio chatter needs some work, but considering it's an early demo i'm extremely impressed. The frame rate never faulters, no tearing and it's fully consistent throughout, the graphics are awesome considering the scale of the game. Seeing the battle on the ground taking place, aswell as in the air with missile streams all over the place and explosions ....really does pull you in.

My only gripes are the useless radio chatter, and the music is rubbish.

Hows the controls? Have they kept it close to the originals with it being more Arcade like or have they tried to add some SIM feeling to it?

It plays pretty much exactly like all the previous ps2 versions do. The main differences were the visuals(freakin' amazing) and the general scale of the game. If you just stopped and looked around there were normally around 5-6 different dog fights involving a good number of planes going on at any given time. On top of that it all runs very smooth.

I can see this being my favorite ace yet.

They've done wonders to get a working demo of this calibre out so soon. Alot of games seem to be getting shown up by poor demos lately, but this really does rock.

The controls are perfect, I was worried it might be hard to manoevre with the gamepad, but it's actually pretty simple and very responsive.

Game's defo on my shopping list.

Not given it a proper play yet but from what I've played so far it's great. Nice arcade feel, and it's visually stunning IMO. Looks super sweet on my TV.
