Default Xbox360 gamepad on PC

I've played on Xbox360 twice, and I love its gamepad! Is it possible to use this device on PC?

yes, if its the wired one, just plug it in.

if its wireless you need to buy wireless adapter (about 20 bucks).

I have the wireless one, I have only one complaint about it, It lacks any driver based settings deadzone. That really bothers be because the controller that I bought have loose thumb sticks

I'm not sure if it works with the wireless, but if you use the wired controller you can't beat the XBCD driver. It lets you set deadzone, full range, and switch the triggers to actual buttons.

XBCD doesn't work with wireless, plus i don't think it works on 64bit vista.

now that we are on this topic, do all 360 controllers have loose thumbs sticks? or did i just get a bad one.

I have a logitech RumblePad 2 for 3 years and that thing has solid thumbs sticks.

No wireless sucks. But now it DOES work with 64bit Vista, thankfully. (For wired, of course) I was very happy to find that it did a few weeks back after fighting with ini hacking for months and months.

All four wireless 360 controllers I have have the same feeling thumbsticks which I think are solid, however I've never tried the logitech rumblepad.

i love the 360 wired controller. I even played some FPS games with it like R6: Vegas. Most games that come out now are automatically mapped for the 360 controller, especially fi they are out on 360.

mine has about 1-2cm loose in every direction. and sometimes doesn't go back to center. which is annoying especially in racing games. because sometimes car turns by it self.
