Default Nv 8600M GT : impossible to install in gfx mode

Hello All,

I just bought myself a Sony Vaio AR41S system and would like to run linux on here. My distro of choice being FC7, I have to rely on the graphical install in order to use LVM (ALT F2 and then lvm does not work in FC7). The problem is that the GFX card does not seem to be correctly initialised resulting in a black screen (as is with any Linux flavor be it Ubuntu, gparted, Fedora, ...).
Why does the 8600M GT have this behaviour and is there a way around it so I can install my system ?

Thanks !

The problem is likely that the X driver being used by the graphical installer has no support for your GPU. You'll need to perform a text based installation, and then install the NVIDIA X driver afterwards.
