This thread is my thoughts and rants on Vista Ultimate x64. People here bow to it so I thought I would try it out, especially since it was 64-bit (I've never used a 64-bit Windows OS before). Experience is the best teacher and I've learned from it.

Apps that matter to me (Apache, MySQL, PHP) are significantly faster on x64.

Regarding iTunes installation - this is an example of how bad Apple apps are, do not blame Microsoft for Apple faults
2GB of memory recommended?

yea, and it's not a resource hog

it's not the fact that he attacks Apple, i could care less about that. it's his blind devotion that's disturbing.

and of course Apple makes ****ty software for other OS's. they want you to use their hardware/OS
(im just kidding, idk if they really do that on purpose)

Well, I have more experience than probably 99% people here. I owned several Apple products, and all of them sucked. iPod 60GB (5G) w/ iTunes 7.2 on Windows sucked most, untill I loaded RockBox on it. iTunes are able to freeze even quadcore computer with 4GB of RAM, such a ****ty SW it is.. Not to mention iPod can hardly be called a music player, as it does not support WMA, OGG, FLAC and other common formats (RockBox does).

Safari for Windows is crashing on any non-English Windows installation within seconds. iTunes does not work on Vista x64. Apple SW for Windows *is* the synonym for *suck* (not that obsolete OS X 10.4 would be any different).

Do you have this experience? Or are you just a stupid teenager?

Hmm. I've thrown all of those formats at iTunes and it's converted it/thrown it on the ol' iPod just fine. I could see how iTunes would suck on Windows. Think about it. Why would Apple really want to make a successful software app on WINDOWS?

Safari on Windows does suck compared to FF. Again, my point above still stands.

Vista x64 sucks anyway. I've been dabbling with iTunes for Vista 32-bit and it works just as good as my Mac version does. I was surprised to find that out but it's the truth.

RockBox is nice, actually made me consider buying ipod again, but i won't until they change the design of it. in current form ipod gets scratched and damage way to easy.

FYI, there is an Apple event tomorrow and the new iMacs and iPods are scheduled to unveil.

yet you sit here and try to point out flaws with Apple products.

then you call me a "stupid teenager", lol. cmon man, if you want to say **** like that, at least READ my posts. think about what you said previously, too. you recommend at least 2GB of RAM? think about how much of a blatant misuse of resources that is, when previous generation OS's could get by easily with 512MB (which is actually 4 times the recommended 128MB for XP).

i know youre going to throw the "oh but tech grows and so should memory and resources" but consider the CPU market. why did the Athlon64 beat the P4? why does the C2D now beat the Athlon64? it's certainly not raw power. smart architecture and efficiency is the way things are going and 2GB is NOT efficient, i dont care how much it costs.

let me re-iterate the fact that I DONT CARE FOR APPLE. ive never owned an Apple computer nor do i ever care to. <sarcasm> keep arguing over apple though, it really bothers me when you **** on a company i dont care for </sarcasm>

If you think converting WMA VBR (compressed) to MP3 and/or AAC is a good thing for your songs, you have BIG problem with your ears.

Yes, iTunes works same slow sucky way on both Windows and OS X. Apple cannot code, their programmers are crap. They can just downloaded BSD source code, Mach, KHTML (=Safari), purchased NextStep, mixed it together, and called this OS X. Release 10.0 and 10.1 was the most unstable OS in computer history, it crashed every minute, 10.2 was crashing every second minute... And release 10.4 is not much better.
