Exclamation forcedeth.c rx frame errors, FC6 & asus m2n-mx mob

I have six different systems using the asus m2n-mx mob, running the latest Fedora6. I have compiled forcedeth.c 0.62 on kernel 2.6.20-1.2962.fc6 and installed it successfully. There was a problem with the compile, CHECKSUM_HW was undefined, I defined it as follows from some google link;

#define CHECKSUM_HW 1

Logs show that it is loading properly, and its behavior appears to be identical to the stock 0.59 version that comes with Fedora 6.

The problem (both 0.59 and 0.62) is that I get occasional RX frame errors; more importantly, I've had the port simply stop working, linkdead, even though ifconfig seems to report like its up. My ifconfig below;

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:17:31:5C:29:7B
inet addr:192.168.1.34 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
inet6 addr: fe80::217:31ff:fe5c:297b/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:532328 errors:1 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:1
TX packets:274539 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:835519022 (796.8 MiB) TX bytes:31435973 (29.9 MiB)
Interrupt:16

Is this a known problem? Is there a workaround? Any feedback or guidance would be appreciated. I've scoured the newsgroups and internet to no avail.

Default Re: forcedeth.c rx frame errors, FC6 & asus m2n-mx mob

Just an update, new security release of the FC6 kernel, 2.6.22.1-32.fc6, with the 0.60 forcedeth.c used as default driver. This version claims to recover from errors. However, I'm still getting link death; only way to recover is to "rmmod forcedeth;modprobe forcedeth". Following is my lspci & lsmod, for what its worth.
