"Slow" Bug in 8800gts 320mb

I read in the news that the windows driver has a slow bug that affects especially the 320mb cards of the gts series, now i would love to know
if this bug also affects linux drivers (in fact i have mostly a crappy
performance even worse sometimes than my 6800gt) and if yes
when it will be fixed (for the windows driver i read early september)
