Default can a GeForce 7050FV GPU display 1600x1200 via DVI?

my biostar TF7050-M2 motherboard is refusing to output 1600x1200 via DVI.

i am running 100.14.11 on ubuntu 7.04.

thru nvidia-settings, i can capture edid parameters from the monitor, and edid-parse shows a correctly-reported 1600x1200 mode, with a pixel clock of 162 MHz, which conforms to the published specs of the monitor.

however, /var/log/Xorg.0.log includes the following: "DELL 2000FP (DFP-0): 155.0 MHz maximum pixel clock" and its largest "validated mode" is 1280x1024. is that a limitation of the 7050FV GPU???

i cannot locate any detailed published specs on this GPU, either from the motherboard manufacturer or from Nvidia.
does the 7050FV officially support 1600x1200 via DVI?

problem solved. in /etc/X11/xorg.conf –

add the following line in the “Device” section for Driver “nvidia”:
Option "ModeValidation" "DFP-0: NoMaxPClkCheck”
prepend the following string to the “metamodes” string in the “Screen” section:
1600x1200 +0+0;
