I can't run nvidia-bug-report.sh after I started X cause it hangs during "cat /proc/driver/nvidia/cards/0" so I have attached the logs without X being started.

I don't think we're getting any help from nvidia... I'm trying nouveau the next time I get my hands on the box.

Does this problem reproduce with 96.43.05?

I don't know... I'm using the default package 1.0-9639 from Ubuntu 7.10, and in fact, these drivers haven always been buggy. The legacy drivers work, but with very bad performances. I think it is a problem which concerns only the GeForce 3 TI 200.

When I say "these drivers", I mean the non-legacy ones.
