Default 8300 GS, Dell 3007, Fiesty not working

Hi, I just got a Dell 30" monitor, and I can't get it to go 2560x1600 with my 8300 GS. I've tried all manner of tweaks to the xorg.conf, and nothing works.
I'm running:
2.6.20-16-generic amd64
and the 100.14.11 drivers installed via Envy.

I'm using the DVI cable that came with the monitor.

When the driver comes up, it says in the log that it only detected a single link DVI cable, even though I am sure I have dual link.

Any ideas? Is this combination not workable?

Your hardware is not capable of driving 2560x1600:

(--) NVIDIA(0): DELL3007WFPHC (DFP-0): Internal Single Link TMDS

(II) NVIDIA(0): Validating Mode "2560x1600":
(II) NVIDIA(0): 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz
(II) NVIDIA(0): For use as DFP backend.
(II) NVIDIA(0): Mode Source: EDID
(II) NVIDIA(0): Pixel Clock : 268.00 MHz
(II) NVIDIA(0): HRes, HSyncStart : 2560, 2608
(II) NVIDIA(0): HSyncEnd, HTotal : 2640, 2720
(II) NVIDIA(0): VRes, VSyncStart : 1600, 1603
(II) NVIDIA(0): VSyncEnd, VTotal : 1609, 1646
(II) NVIDIA(0): H/V Polarity : +/+
(WW) NVIDIA(0): Mode is rejected: PixelClock (268.0 MHz) too high for

I have a GeForce 8300 GS. I was told by Dell that this card was capable of driving a 2560x1600 monitor. If this is not the case, can you confirm so I can go back to them?

All I can confirm is what I've already stated, based on the information in your bug report.

And we're sure this isn't a driver problem or something like that?

I'm not sure who you mean by "we're sure", however I'm not aware of any G86 based cards that have dual link TMDS support. I think you need to ask Dell these questions, as they're who is telling you that it should work.

The reason I'm trying to get this info is because dell claimed that the 8300 GS was compatible with 2560x1600. If it is not, I need to get them to give me a card that is, and some confirmation

As far as I know the 8300 doesn't support dual link so 2560x1600 will not be possible.
