Exclamation thermalright ultra 120 eXtreme modding!

Ive had my 120 extreme for a few days now and ive been thinking of modding another 120mm fan on the other side so it will have x2 120mm fans on, has anybody done\tried this? .... im wondering will it make that much of a difference? witch way would it be best to have the airflow of the other fan?

That's what I was thinking. Having the airflow go the same direction... going the opposite directions I think would be bad...

Definitely push/pull. Both fans blowing in would create dead spots.

Didn't Anandtech use a push/pull configuration in their review of that cooler?

Are you high on something?
Sorry if I ruined the thread by biting.

But hey ,Why not try 4 120mm fans all blowing inwards.

You're right. Did some checking and it was the Scythe Infinity. Using a push-pull configuration instead of a single fan they got an extra 70 MHz out of it.

Not worth it to me considering the added noise it must produce...

the push/pull will definitely produce better cooling. increased velocity over the plate will increase the heat removal rate. it's basic fluids for ya
