Default 8800gtx and openSUSE 10.2

Hi all, I just installed opensuse last night and follow nvidia's instruction to setup the display driver:

Quote:
Use

YaST -> Software -> Installation Source -> Add

Protocol: HTTP
Server Name: : download.nvidia.com
Directory on Server: /opensuse/10.2

to add the NVIDIA ftp server as additional installation source.
Now use

YaST -> Software -> Software Management

to install the NVIDIA driver. Select the following packages:

x11-video-nvidiaG01
nvidia-gfxG01-kmp-"kernel-flavor"
Now after the installation, the graphics still seems as laggy as before, it takes seconds to render a resized window and the entire screen looks like a slideshow.

When I go to Grahics card and monitor settings, i get a warning:

Quote:
The configuration is Framebuffer based and your system does not support changes for resolution and/or color settings
What should I do here?

Start sax2 and reconfigure graphical settings:
Code:
#sux
#sax2 -r -m 0=nvidia
After that restart graphical environment (logout).
