Default nv driver for CUDA on FC6 with kernel 2.6.22

Hi all,

When I tried to install the driver, followed the link http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=72490, it always asked me to provide the kernel source. I installed successfully for kernel 2.6.20 by providing the argument --kernel-source-path with the corresponding path. But for kernel 2.6.22, I used same method to download and install the kernel source, the file version.h is not under the folder /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.22/linux-2.6.22.i686/include/linux.
So how can I fix it?

Are you using your own kernel, or the kernel that ships with FC6?

Also, please attach the installer log that includes this failure.

Yes, I want to install for the new kernel 2.6.22.2-42.

The error is it can't find the kernel source, even if I provide using --kernel-source-path argument. It can't find the version.h file under the path: /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.22/linux-2.6.22.i686/include/linux/
But there's one version.h file under /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.20/linux-2.6.20.i686/include/linux/dvb/

But for older kernel 2.6.20, it worked providing the kernel source path and the version.h does exist under that path. /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.20/linux-2.6.20.i686/include/linux/

@lzhan: you should never need to specify the kernel source path explicitely; if you had to do so, the kernel development files for the target kernel most likely weren't installed or were installed incorrectly.

And I used package manager to install the kernel-devel, the package for the new kernel does installed. Still, I have to specify the path.

As Zander noted, you should not need to specify the kernel source path with FC6. If you feel that you need to, then something is incorrectly setup on your system.

The forum sticky post I referenced, and you stated you followed, mentions a known FC6 kernel RPM arch bug. Did you verify that you were not impacted by that bug?

What is the output from running the following commands on your system:
rpm -qa --queryformat "%{na****-%{version}-%{release}.%{arch}\n" | grep kernel
ls -l /lib/modules/`uname -r`/

I think that's the bug of mixed i586 and i686. I relied too much on the package manager. :P Thanks for all your helps!
