Default ShaderShock (a SM2 Bioshock Project)

For anybody that is ready to smash their SM2 video card because you just want to play Bioshock, put your hammer away....there is hope.

Even though WarAnakin has switched to nVidia he still has love for his ATI family!!

He is working on a shader model 2 mod that will let you play Bioshock!!!
Go take a look:

*this will also work on nVidia FX series cards*

It's a great idea. I have a mate with a X850 card. Which can still hold it's own, he uses this mod to play Bioshock. Sure it's doesn't look AS nice and there are a few glitches, but at least he can enjoy the game, and it's a game that should be played by as many as possible.

x800 series cards are still quite capable and if a 6600gt can run bioshock then a x800 card should be able to run it much better. Voodoo 3 2000 would hardly run it at playable framerates. I think it's quite lazy from the devs to have not implemented a feature that has taken a user just a few days to get nearly right.

The screenshots don't look that bad. I'd like to see a mod that reduces the smoke effects and the fog in the game to make it look more plastic.

Seems like a neat idea to me. I have a x800 card which I can attest still holds it's own in games. And it annoys me to no end when developers require SM3 for the game to play. I don't think that 2 and 3 look all that different anyway, and as this mod is showing, it can't be that hard to implement SM2 as an option.

Why would you need it? You have SM3.0 capable hardware. Oh wait you were trolling...
