Go to matchmaking, select Custom Match, and select any options you want (or leave all at "ANY") then slick "Start" so it'll find one, if it fails to connect, hit retry. I usually have to hit retry about 3x or so, but that may be because of my wireless connection.

This is the first game I've come across that does not play smooth on my rig. Typically the frame rate is fine, but often the frame rates bottom out for a few seconds to under 10fps, then back up to 50-60 which is usually were it is. I can't figure out what the glitch is.

does that happen when you are parachuting down?... if so it would be because of the textures/models loading on the fly

There is absolutely no glitch. You want to know what it is?

It's your CPU, I went from a similar setup (X2 3800+ at 2.65Ghz) to my Quad when I was playing the Airborne demo, and the difference is fenomenal, faster CPU's don't show up in average fps in benchmarks, but the minimum gets a humongous boost.

There is nothing else that is the problem apart from your CPU. 100% guaranteed.

Question

I finished the game and I realised I completed everything on casual (me thinking why the hell is it so easy) despite selecting expert on new campaign.

But, when I try and select a game, you can't do for instance flakturm on expert, you first have to do all the previous missions on expert, building up.

Is this the way the game was made?

Usually I would disagree, but in this case I'm seeing much evidence that the Unreal 3 engine makes more use of the CPU than other engines, so I'll have to agree. Especially because its the minimal fps that seems to dip and not the average. Its like the game is calling on the CPU at that moment and it basically passes out from exhaustion. My next upgrade is planned for Q4 2007, and I'll be going Quad too.

Yea very true, that was what I noticed, it wasn't so apparant with other games, but every game that I've played that was also for Xbox360 benefited massively of a faster CPU.

Take DiRT for instance, with the X2 at 2.65Ghz, the rallycross races (with all the opponents) would be unplayable, now with this setup, it's smooth as butter.

You know, that makes total sense given the fact the 360 is a multi-core setup. Oh, I can hardly wait for that Yorkfield CPU.
