i was going to buy burnout paradise when it's out but now i decided not to. it seems different and more like NFS most wanted (where you drive around in open area to get missions, whatever).

but the crashes are amazing as always but i prefer revenge better. maybe burnout 6 will return to that.

This game defintely has a different feel than NFS. I get that people compare it to that because of the free roam type situation, but I'm a big fan of NFS (Most Wanted is my favorite) and I didn't enjoy Burnout Paradise. I've never played any of the others so I can't judge by that comparison. All my friends seem to massivly enjoy the fun of being able to easily invite other people to come join you which wouldn't be as possible without free roam. It might not be the same old Burnout, but it sure aint no NFS

hey, i have other question...

after reading a bit of burnout paraside... hmm sounds more like fun than i thought it'd be. i might get it however i don't know which console to get for.

i heard that it runs/better on ps3 than 360 since it was built from ground up on ps3 to take advantage of cell or whatever. anyone happen to have both copy or something to play around? hehe i'm going to ask this game for my birthday.

I have played both the 360 version and the ps3 version next to each other on my 1080p tv. They look identical. Both run smooth and fast.

I tried 2 races last night. In both, I missed a turn and lost my way. In the end it was a fight to find my way back, forget winning. I didnt have to worry abt that in previous burnouts. This was like racing with a gps in my hand...lol

Meh. Friend borrowed his PS3 version to me. So far raced till I unlocked the first SUV.

This game is already getting old.
City looks big but truly is not very large or varied. You go blindly so fast it doesn't take much time at all to get to the other side.
Every area looks very much the same.
No night time.
No weather changes.
No speedometer. Why? I like checking my speeds, doing top speed runs and stuff.
Can't remap controls. Lame.
Crash mode totally ruined and major weak sause. No cool power up explosion at the end, wtf?
Only 2 camera views.
30% of my time racing involves trying to figure out where to go, often resulting in me Totalling my car cause I'm looking at the map instead of where I'm going.

This game could of been so much more.

Well I've played it on and off for a couple weeks and it's a lot more fun online with friends completely challenges, etc. I would agree it's a HIGHLY repetitive game, I got to a Class A license and almost felt like I was racing the same ones over and over and over again, that being said once you do start learning paths through the city that you prefer it makes racing 20x easier. Eventually all I needed was a quick look at where I needed to go and from there I mapped a path in my head and followed it.

After having memorized or at least learned landmarks it's fairly easy to get around the city and even the countryside. Overall a forgettable game, but nice to pickup now & again if I wanna get wreckage going.

I think the free drive idea works great with Marked Man and Road Rage events, but for the races and Burning routes it was annoying. In previous Burnouts you only had to worry about smashing into a car while sliding a yellow arrow wall corner, in Paradise you can miss the turn entirely which can cost you a race.

I did that a few times when I first started out on races, but with Paradise I can usually come back to win it using known shortcuts (that the AI never uses). I once made a 150yd jump after being in last place for 90% of the race (thanks to some unscrupulous take-outs by the AI) and wound up catching up to the pack at the bottom of the mountain.

Fun game but I feel like I've already beaten the game . . .

Doesn't last very long.
