It also gives developers more room to code the physics as they see fit, rather than following the Ageia API or whatever hardware specific functions they use.

Just look at what is happening to sound cards and hardware acceleration for sound in Vista. About the only thing that looks to be staying for quite some time at this point is graphics cards.
The problem is a CPU is not as effective at calculating physics as a dedicated PPU. Heck, I'm quite confident that a 6800U could perform physics calculations more efficiently than today's most highly oc'd quad core CPU- assuming HavokFX was used properly and the coding was done efficiently enough.

Anyhow, I know that with Crysis what's done is done- we're stuck with CPU-based physics. Regardless, I'm seriously wondering what is to become of the "Quantum Physics Effects Processor" that's been sitting idle on both my GTSs since launch day...

I seriously doubt that's the case.. unless the hole is just a decal on the ground, I don't see that ever happening realistically in-game.

So the MP aspect of the game right now is pretty lame... Nothing really exciting and even with a full server it feels boring and none chaotic. I have seen more action on a good CS Server...

I hope the SP is great because I can't see myself playing the MP much...

I think MP is great, definitely has the BF2 type of feel.
