My initial impressions of the game are very good! It's humorous, but it doesn't seem to detract from the game. It's also got a very unique array of players and weapons.

I will be playing this game the next chance I get... that's for sure.

EDIT: is there anyone with a CRT monitor that has noticed the motion blur working?

Yep there is a motion blur. It isn't real noticeable though, especially at 85fps.

I just played it for 2 hours without a single crash or problem. It runs and looks SO good. I'm playing it at 2048x1536 with 2xAA, 16xAF and all settings maxed and its pegged at 85fps almost the entire time (the medic gun effects slow it down a bunch when I get too close to them... probably because of the AA).

The game is very fun too.

It feels a lot different than TFC to me. Some ways thats good, some ways not...

For example, the weapons and tools and the whole interface are much more streamlined and the whole thing just works very well... but... it feels a bit limited compared to TFC. There are no grenades and there are far less weapons.

Maybe I'm just nit picking but each class has 2 guns, and a melee weapon, and the spy and engineer have extra abilities. And thats about it. No grenades, no det packs, no extra weapons for each class...

Like I said, the game is still a lot of fun, but I noticed immediately that it just doesn't have as much "stuff" as TFC.

Between the ultra fast pace and the limited weapons there doesn't seem to be much room to learn tricks or do anything too elaborate with each class.

I guess we'll see how it lasts though. I think the reason TFC has been around so long is because it offered a lot of replayability for people as they learned new tricks and mastered each class. This one seems kinda mindless in comparison... but that definitely doesn't mean it isn't fun.

Running great here, using the Crysis beta drivers released a few days ago.

Edit:

Well, it crashed when I hit the Tab button.

Happened to me once. Played again for 2 hours without a hitch.

I got to play for like 20 minutes earlier (before it crashed) and it was extremely fun although I feel the scouts can be a bit too insane... I know they are supposed to be fast... but with the shotgun they can run in too fast and blow you away pretty dang well :\.

But sniping is extremely fun... although I miss manually charging the shots .

Valve does not care about ctf

Oh well, tf:source was fun to play, I miss the grenades though.

Is the sudden death thing an option btw, All the servers I played on had it, and it was just annoying, if you have 4 cps, the game should end when the time's up, not go into some stupid sudden death mode

I'm really tearing it up with the demo man.

The pyro is a TON of fun too. Its a hell of a lot more effective than it was in TFC (the fire actually does decent damage now) but I really miss the flame rockets and fire bombs.
