RTS minus base building and resources? Isn't that like removing half the gameplay?

Basically it is BF2 with a top down view. I would not call this game a RTS, still a great game though

Grrr. I was saving it for a Holiday. But you guy and the Gamespot review convinced me to get this. So any word on D2D or a Steam release?

I played the demo, was a little turned off as I was expecting more of a Ground Control style. But it did grow on me.
With Gamespot. I dunno. They are tough, they will pull apart even the best game. So I trust if they like a game, it means it's pretty damn good. I know a few guys here call Gamespot out for not loving 'their' favourite games and not giving them a 100%. I mean they still give a pretty high score. They just don't hand out 9+ unless it really is something special. |

I was only able to play about 30 minutes of the single player campaign(grr, stupid lunch break) but I'm already sold on the game. I can't believe how well this runs on my machine, first off. Impeccable detail and special effects, and the voice acting is pretty damn good. I really like the way this game plays. Definitely not your average RTS; as in its focused squarely on combat and knowing/using your units abilities correctly. And the tactical aids are absolutely delicious. I giggled like a schoolgirl when I took out a laundromat with a precision artillery strike.
The only thing that was a bit disorienting is the camera controls. But after a few minutes I got the hang of it and became second nature. Excellent game all around.

Hasn't the base building/resource gathering thing been done enough? It is refreshing to see a game take that element out and focus more on the action/tactics element.

having a 8800gtx with a Core 2 Duo E6700 oc to 3.2 and framerate at 1900x1200 or even 1680x1050 is not very good in the benchmark test, low 18 average 34, not very good. What options should we remove AA is off, Soft shadow is off, what else ? thanks

The benchmark is more of a stress test. You won't get a very high framerate on it. In the game under normal circumstances you should be fine.

Nice, I'm ranked #505 now. I'll get to the top 100 before the weekend. This game is the best. Already got my own clan going. Agilent Killers (AGKs)- guys from work. Let me know if anyone wants to join. Everything in this game just works, the friends the chat the clans, everything.

Guys, I just installed the game and I have no shortcuts! Neither on the desktop, nor in GE. There's no program group either. This is on Vista 64. Other games do this sort of thing too (some shortcuts), but this one lacks all of the above...
