This is simple, follow the steps
![]() (Obs: Tested in Slackware 12) (Obs 2: Make one backup of your X configuration file) [ 1º ] Get your Compiz Fusion; compiz-fusion.tar.bz2 http://www.zshare.net/download/2863539e58bff0/ compiz-fusion.tar.bz2 (Alternative URL) http://www.badongo.com/file/3875260 Remove your local compiz; # cd /var/log/packages # removepkg compiz-* Go to the downloaded new compiz and install the new packages; # installpkg *.tgz [ 2º ] Open your X configuration file in /etc/X11/xorg.conf; In Section "Screen", add... Option "RenderAccel" "true" Option "AllowGLXWithComposite" "true" Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "true" Option "DisableGLXRootClipping" "True" In the end of the same archive put this; Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "Enable" EndSection After this, hit CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE to restart X server. [ 3º ] In KDE, hit ALT+F2 and this; "compiz --replace" Enjoy! (: |

and this is with what distribution?
and why is that easier than: emerge beryl-manger emerge compiz-fusion choose compiz from beryl-manager menu ? Edit: oh slackware. Still. Beryl-manager is worth a look. And don't forget that you need a window decorator with compiz or you won't have much fun. |

Also, the 2 options below aren't needed if you're running xorg 6.9 (for the first) and 7.1 (for the second) or later:
