Halo3 multiplayer is limited to 16players (8v8). Magus how many PS3 FPS's have more than 16 players and no slow downs?
Resistance supports 40 without a single dip in framerate while using the same graphics engine as the SP portion (not lowering the res or removing AA for example), Warhawk isn't a FPS but it also supprots 32 without dipping in framerate ever. Lets see how Haze and UT3 do.

have you played the other two in the series on a console? If not, pick those up as well. They should both be pretty cheap.

He didn't mention anything about coop...but if single player is that short/easy to beat, I wouldn't imagine the coop would offer any sort of additional fun.

He said multiplayer was good as always, which was to be expected if you played the beta.
The game is waaaay to easy on Normal mode just like the reviews said. I'm guessing your friend played it that way too as did I, and I found it subpar and boring. The single player experience is amazing once you play on hard or legendary though, the difference in AI makes all the difference in the world.

That is a great bit of info. I normally play games on the default, but when I get to halo3 I'll be sure to crank it up a notch or two.

Just for the record the MP and SP in GoW were awesome. The SP was like a movie - and the game itself was an A+ 6 hours or not to beat it you wanted to play through it again just to get to the rain scene, or to get another good look at the game... It was truely awesome I actually played through it 6 times in a row and 3 or 4 of them we're on coop with friends and I enjoyed it every time I played through the same, it was a classic.

For the record Halo, and Halo 2 weren't nothing special. The story wasn't even that good.. The story for the creature or w/e in Halo 2 was okay but the rest of the game sucked. MP is for dummies - I played and was top every round. Any advid FPS gamer can be top in halo... it wasn't very fun and more boring then anything else. I have no doubt that Halo 3 will change anything.

It is nice to hear that resitance can handle that many people in a firefight, I'll take that as a + for the platform. Warhawk as you said isn't a fps and due to the large differences in rendering and physics requirements, I do not think it would be worth while cross comparing the genre's (Eve-online can have 800+ space battles, but it runs like crap).

To me, what makes the Halo series so fun for me is the overall package. Especially the environment, military setting, and futuristic crap which I personally dig. We've all seen too many movies, played through too many games, and read too many books to be surprised or overly thrilled by many stories conjured up these days. It's the stuff that goes on in between which I like, and so far, the Halo series satisfies me.

But that's just me. I'm also the type that will put through any game that features Indiana-jones like scenaries and explorations because I just love those settings.
