I am pretty sure this is DX9 as the FRAPS frame rate counter has a black background in all the X10 games I have played. I have to go to work so I won't be able to provide any more feedback.

Smile Re: Clive Barker's Jericho PC demo tomorrow

I just tried the demo, it's awesome ! I love this game.

It runs well enough, & FSAA is built into the game engine. Around 40-50fps @ 1280x1024 FSAA 4x, all options to high.

I dunno if this title uses deferred shading like bioshock, but, i'm glad to finally see a title with UE3 & FSAA working from the game engine.

My congratulations to the developers team !

I didn't find this scary at all, but I haven't really found many games or movies "scary" since I was like 10.

Doom 3 startled me once (first Imp) and Call of Cthluhu had some pretty tense chases and creepy moments...

This is a run and gun shooter. No need to be a afraid of anything...

ran into one of those typical console things where you have to press keys in different directions in sequence and stuff..
sorta pissed me off..

Wow, when people said it was short they weren't kidding O.o Just finished the demo and it took about 15 minutes (probably less). There's a video that orients you where you are in the game (always nice to know somewhat wtf is going on in a demo) and the actual gameplay is pitted right in the middle of the game.

Graphics are nice, akin to Bioshock in glossiness, and the game runs reasonably well on my 320mb GTS @ 1680x1050 w/ all high, low motion blur, and vsync off (30-50 fps). I noticed that the game seems to constantly eat up memory, especially with AA ("smoothing") - AKA the alt-tab bug >.< Even when playing without AA the game slowly chews up my card's memory and I have to alt-tab every couple minutes to get things running normal. btw I'm using the 163.71 drivers..

Gameplay-wise it doesn't seem to offer anything revolutionary. Run and gun. Major thing I don't like is the bobbing of the camera for almost every little action you do. The weapons and melee seem fun though, and you get some spells too to add to the mix. There's also some arrow-button mashing goodness a la resident evil 4.

In short: gameplay feels like it was meant for consoles, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun on pc. If the demo were longer and had a little more action in it, perhaps I'd get a better idea of where the game really stands though..

I believe that is a custom engine , not is the UE3

It was said in the presentation of the game in Spain - Europe-. This one is one of few games done in Spain that go out to the world. The this developer founded with members of Rebel Art, authors of one game of fight with swords , ill-treated for the critic , Blade of Darkness. This game in 2001 had shadows with stencil shadows, I believe that it is the first game that did it, several years before that Far Cry - in outdors - and Doom 3.

Wow, this is dumb.

When you're the girl, when you give a command, it's GUY'S VOICE! It's not even using more than ONE core (dear Codemasters, this is Unreal Engine 3, the engine scales to four-cores on its own, WHAT DID YOU DO? )

Deleting now. . .

this is my first post here, i dont believe that using one core or four core would make me delete the game, this game was talked down everywhere i went, but i played the demo today and the game ran smooth as butter with my 8800 ultra avg fps was in the 30's at 1920x1200 with 4xaa and 16x AF and with motion blur on high and everthing else high. it jump to 40's and 50's here and there, the graphics were nothing but eye catching, i really didnt run it to any memory issues, its pretty funny though a girl giving command with a guys voice, i am sure they will fix it in the final version, well only 3 of the main characters were available.

i actually thought it was pretty damn fun to play i am not too picky about games, if i like them i buy them if i dont i wont complain because its just not for me. the only thing i hated was the menu, it kinda made me sick to my stomach, lol.

If you don't like the game, you make your voice heard, so developers won't keep dishing out the same, unoriginal junk. There are a host of other reasons why I deleted the game. Stranglehold stayed on my PC longer than this one, lol.
