There is a box on the very top of the server list when you join on online game... just click it to enable punkbuster... if you didn't install it at all somehow you probably need to reinstall (???).

When I installed the game last night, I must say that I did not like the game. I played some more today, and it is starting to grow on me.

bought the game, and enjoyed it. Its a bit more complicated with all the classes and abilities but fun once you get the hang of it.

Then HalfLife2 Orange Box came out (Team Fortress 2!!!!!!)

today, for kicks and a change of pace, I launched ET:QW again.

No Sound. nothing, nada.
not on the menu's, at load up, on anything.

Tried other games, everything seems to be okay. checked ET again: Nothing.

This seems to be a pretty big problem from the ET forums.

Anyone else losing sound?

This seems like a pretty significant issue, but Activision seems to be hushing it up.



edited 10/21:

completely removed and reinstalled audio (audigy 2 ZS), working now.. wierd

You need to play it for a while to understand the soldier classes and what/where the objectives are. Then it gets fun.

I had no sound initially (and still can't use 5.1 or it hitches horribly for some reason) but I think it's a Linux problem as forcing it to use OSS fixed it for me (except the 5.1 issue).

I think strogg are turning out to be a bit too strong. they have won an extra 14000 games or so to date.

my tip would be to turn down the lacerator damage a bit

i agree. it sure seems to me that the strogg have the upper hand!
