Just got word from Activision on my press copy, should be here by Friday or Monday.

Not sure when the actual release date is in the US. (meaning shelf date)


I got a set of those dog tags as well as a USB key at the 2005 E3 event.

I went to the store after work but couldn't find it. Then asked the owner, and he said game would be in this Saturday. Damn co-worker must be lying. Grabbed a G9 mouse however while couldn't get the game.

game is definately more optimised in the full version compared to the demo. runs like a dream at 1680x1050 4xaa everything max.

A patch has already been released, which includes a fix for a performance drop with soft particles on certain graphics cards.
  • Updated Linux client compatibility
  • Fixed performance drop of soft particles on some graphics cards
  • Removed XP award for destroying newly spawned vehicles (spawn camping)
  • Improved bot control of the GDF Titan Tank
  • Fixed dedicated LAN server administrators reverting to default group on map change
  • Fixed players occasionally not being able to change the mission they are on
  • Server Launcher now clears the map rotation when changing game mode
  • Fixed localized clients reverting to unlocalized if player starts a lite server on the same PC
  • Fixed image pure check (anti-cheating) erroneously failing for MegaTextures

Last night was my last night working in electronics at wal-mart and while I was putting some stock in the back room I opened a box and saw about a dozen copies of Quake Wars collectors edition and about half a dozen normal ones.

I just thought to myself "if I was a less honest person, I'd be getting a going away present from this place".

It should be on the shelf in a couple days though.

here in Canada, my local EB Games says Oct 2 release
