Played the demo last night, seems like a fun game. I'm still learning right now, but the demo map seems a bit unbalanced. Playing a bot game (so presumably other than me everyone is equally skilled) the Strogg had significantly more XP than the GDF. Haven't had much time to play yet though (just a couple of games) so maybe it's a fluke.

The Valley map is very difficult for the GDF to win unless you have 2-3 GDF players that really work together... you need a good field ops and engineer to get the MCP to the outpost, then you need a good field ops and covert ops to disable the shield.

After that it's just run and gun.

And there's the airbrate key to instantly go into a full stop in mid air. Plus the mouselook key that allows aiming without steering the aircraft.

Well I suck at flying the helis, particularly the GDF one... so I guess I just don't notice that the controls are unrealistic.

The explosions aren't the best.

I think the game is doing well. I'm seeing more and more players on the servers. And the people I know that have picked up the full version say it's a lot better then they expected. But for some it's just flat out not their cup of tea.

As far as realism of the flying goes, it is a science fiction type game, as far as I know there is no such thing as a Anasi Gyrocopter anywhere...

Honestly at first I thought the flying vehicles sucked, until I got the controls down pat, now it's a big race to get to the Gyrocopter first. Not a fan of the Buffalo Transport, pretty much a slug, but it is good with a gunner or 2 on it to annoy the other team. Basically it's for loading some people up and letting them parachute in. Definitely a fan of the expert mode flying controls tho, cant exactly recall what the difference is in basic controls.

Loving the game. Be nice to see some downloadable content in the future.
