Looks like it will be a nice addon and i look forward to more missions
but i think the title "ACCELERATION" is a poor choice considering just how badly FSX runs even on the best of rigs

By mastering the planes, the enviroment, learn what flying is really about, flying by VFR, or by instruments alone. Mastering helicopter flymodel or learn to fly economical with gliders. This expansion also has tons of new missions and they are great fun but it also has support for air races with other people. Flying at Reno with a 3000+ hp P51, low over the ground, trying to take the corners better than others while they are right on your tail or next to your wingtips.... priceless.

Iīm a huge fan of combat sims as well, own Lock On and itīs expansions for years now and canīt wait for Black Shark but FSX is at least equally enjoyable to me plus itīs only like $15 by now.

Depends on what you are into. Some people really get off on mastering complex systems. Some of the more complex airliner add ons like the PMDG 747 come with 400 page manuals just so you can learn how to operate the flight control systems.

Open this up and take a look at the table of contents on pages 3-5 to see how complexe these things are.

http://www.leveldsim.com/files/LVLD7...al_for_FSX.zip

Even on something basic like a Spitfire its fun to master not only the flgiht model, but all the workings of the aricraft, as every switch and button is modeled. There's many more dimensions to mastering an aircraft than there is to mastering a FPS map.

Try adjusting your settings. Make sure bloom is off and water is set to low 2x. With max settings on most stuff I get around 20-27fps and thats without SP1, which gives a 20-40% performance boost. Lots of people say it runs poorly, but I have not experienced that my self, and I don't even have the fastest CPU, or even dual core.

I think some people that complain about performance need to realize the game is not meant for max settings on current hardware, and they are probably setting things too high. FS has a life spam of 2-3 years.

With the DX9 feature set DX10 was showing a 17% performance increase in the last build they were showing.

I posted about this before, but the Reno race weekend took place around 3 or 4 weeks ago. There were 3 seperate accidents, each involving a fatality. 3 Deaths in one weekend, now that is an extreme sport.

The Red Bull Series raced in San Diego last weekend, it's been televised on cable this season. Pretty cool to watch.

There is some footage of both events on youtube.

Yeah the Red Bull races look cool with everyone flying inbetween the gates, but the Oval type races are definitely the more dangerous with all those planes flying in close proximity at top speed. Too bad about the 3 pilots who didn't make it.

OT- I'm looking forward to flying the Hornet and doing some carrier traps, otherwise I still consider LOMAC to be the superior sim for aerobatics.

I stopped playing Lockon when they started using starforce as copy protection. Bad move by Eagle Dynamics.

3 new aircraft, 30 new missions, and DX10 all in one box. Yeah, that's pretty sweet.
