more debug info for anyone who wants to take it.
I had another xid yesterday (trying to test this and see if I can get more info out of the kernel panic). This time though, it did not lead to a lockup, just a black flicker of the screen. I thought this may be because this time it's L0->L0 instead of 1 to 0 or 2 to 1 Oct 17 21:55:05 slickbox kernel: NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 6, PE0000 1d6c 000005c0 0000f148 00bfbfbf 03840000 Oct 17 21:55:05 slickbox kernel: NVRM: Xid (0001:00): 30, L0 -> L0 |

I'm trying to be patient. Though this bug is still not fixed for me after a year of use. I'd like some feedback as to the next step for helping you guys solve this problem on hp laptops.

I am currently using XFCE with composing enabled, and ipw3945. This seems to be working. Maybe that was a bug in Beryl? Or maybe it's just because xfce takes less video resources.

I believe beryl triggers a bug in one of (bios, nvidia, wireless driver). But I can't figure out which one.
I almost never completely lock up anymore (but I still can). However I still get frequent xid's which are coupled with screen flickers/corruption, wireless shutdown (until reboot) and god knows what other problems. I just upgraded iwlwifi today and i'm gonna see if that helps. |

It seems that 100.14.23 + compiz-fusion is more stable than 100.14.19 + beryl... some minor issues here, but no freezes for now (it's more than a week that I am using it).
