Angry MAJOR DX9a and Det 43.45 Problem Massive stability problem.

I have never had a problem before with stability problems ever.

It first started when I downloaded DX9a.
I had the 43.45 drivers installed and DX9 and there were no problems but when I updated to DX9a I got really bad corruption
of icons and random crashes saying NVDISP.DRV error.
So I uninstalled the 43.45 drivers and loaded up the 41.09 and any other I could find.
I could not get the crashes to stop so I formatted and started over.
I did not install dx9 I kept dx8.1b.
But my system was still unstable the frequency of crashes increased and I started getting Fatal error exceptions BSOD.
So I fdisked and formatted then Wrote 0s to the whole drive
and I still get the NVDISP.DRV errors fatal errors and BSOD
especially in internet explorer.
I cant play any games at all that are direct3d or opengl driven.
The only games I can play are solitare and none excellerated games.
This is really PISSING ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its like the directx9a install damaged my video card.
I HATE MICROSOFT!!!!!
Do they employ highschool regects to write their programs or what.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
I dont have a second video card to confirm my suspisions.
THIS REALLY SUCKS.

make sure your GF2 fan is still working. if they give out and your core overheats, you get EXACTLY what you're describing.

The fan is working.
Im thinking maybe my ram is dieing for some reason if its not the DX9a install.
I just ordered some cheap samsung to see if it is my ram.
I wont know till I get the new stick next week.
Any other ideas.
If it is my ram Ill RMA my OCZ.
Its just weird it only started right after the DX9a install.

Most certainly not the DX9 install if you tripled zeroed the drive. Plus, DX9a is just a minor D3D update... heh.

So no, it's definitely hardware.

I can see something wrong here. You had no problem run DirectX 9 on Win98SE and ran into problem when installed DirectX 9a.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

It seem DirectX 9a do not support Win98SE, it only support Win98 (First Edition), it look like DirectX 9a have a problem with Win98SE, maybe DirectX 9b or 9.1 will fix it.

What makes you say that?

If it's the fact that Win98SE isn't mentioned on that download page then you'll notice that the other DirectX 9.0 and earlier download page also fail to list Windows 98 Second Edition as being supported.

Uhm, I'm running DX9a just peachy on Blue and Bubbles...me don't think that's the problem.

I run DX9a and 43.45 and I have no problem at all. I'm thinking it's hardware.
