So far there are 4 (?) hardware revisions of PS3:

The original 20GB and 60GB units which incorporate both the EE and GS from PS2

The 80GB model and the 60GB Euro version with only the GS; EE is emulated

The new 40GB model without EE or GS which doesn't sport backward compatibility; on a side note it seems that this one employs 65nm technology for the CPU and GPU
