Nvidia Quadro NVS 110M & Linux Mandriva 2007
How to install drivers for this OS)?
Toshiba tecra m7, with quadro nvs 110m/
Try install linux using virtual PC, and when I choose video card, like S3 generic or other I have a lot of toubles with resolution.
When I try install driver downloaded from official site
[root@localhost tmp]# sh Nvidia-linux-x86-100.14.19-pkg1.run
You do not appear to have an NVIDIA GPU supported by 100.14.19 etc.
I accept license
It wants connect to official ftp;//
But I haven't internet connection on virtual pc
Bilding kernel module
And then Error:
Unable to load kernel module "nvidia.ko"

Virtual pc will be using some virtual video card, in most cases anyway. You can't install drivers for your physical hardware, since as the error message noted, that's not what the system is seeing.
Virtual pc means just that, I don't know what kind you're running, in the case of vbox and vmware, it is shown a virtual hardware configuration that has nothing to do with your actual configuration, so of course you can't install drivers for your physical video card since that's not what the guest operating system is running on, it's running on a virtualized set of hardware, which you can see what is by running this command: dmesg
in console window, that will show you the actual virtual hardware. To see what your video is, for example, do this: lspci -nn | grep VGA
It's useful to read up a bit on the technologies you run before trying to do more complex things. Most virtual pc type software is run in a window in your system, like any other program, but if you ask it to support a resolution that the native driver doesn't support, that won't work.
