Default Asus A7N266-VM problem solved with new drivers?

Hello all!
I'm still using the Ubuntu 6.06 because my GeForce2 MX on-board (Asus A7N266-VM) only works with 2.6.15-xx kernel versions. When I upgrade to Ubuntu 7.04 ou another distro with kernel 2.6.20-xx the X server don't work anymore... It crashes or display glitches and artifacts. This is a quite old problem discussed in this forum many times, without solution (I didn't see any solution until now).
Anyone has experienced the new drivers (96.43.01) with this mobo or a GeForce2 MX? If so, please share with us, ok?

Thanks a lot,

No way, the same glitches continue with it... But you could use the 8776 patched driver it works upto kernel 2.6.22 and Xorg 7.2. The minute you get into 7.3 only 96.43.01 supports 7.3 and you are back in the same boat.
